Here is a highly surprising pizza for you to try out at home next time: my delicious apple and goat cheese pizza! I made an easy pizza dough from scratch and then topped it off with a couple of sliced apples and creamy goat cheese…
Well I though that a goat cheese pizza would be such a fun thing to try out!
Normally when it’s pizza night at home, we go for rather classics. Like a plain and simple margarita. Or a pepperoni with mushrooms. Even a pizza bianco or white pizza with pesto and sun dried tomatoes from time to time, especially in the summer months.
Oh that’s a delicious one as well, that green basil pesto on a pizza is truly to die for. Add a glass of chilled rose wine to it, excellent summer meal.

But this time however I thought I should try out something new for our Italian dinner tonight.
And guess what I just bought in my local supermarket, goat cheese!
So that had me thinking. Could I make a pizza with it?
Would that work?

This lush apple and cheese pizza was absolutely to die for! What great flavors!
Why haven’t I thought of this before?

Easy Apple & Goat Cheese Pizza Recipe

Here is my apple and goat cheese pizza: I made an easy pizza dough recipe from scratch, topped with apples and goat cheese...
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 3,5 oz soft goat’s cheese (100 g)
- ⅖ cup warm water (100 ml)
- 5,8 oz plain flour (165 g)
- 0,3 oz fresh yeast (8 g), or 1 tsp dry yeast
- a handful fresh oregano
- olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
-
In a small saucepan combine the warm water and yeast. Stir until the yeast has dissolved.
-
Then add the flour and salt to a blender and pour in the yeast liquid.
-
Pulse well until you get a smooth dough.
-
Sprinkle a clean surface with flour and put the dough on it. Sprinkle with more flour and start to knead the dough for 5 to 8 minutes until it doesn’t stick anymore. Add extra flour if necessary. Then shape the dough into a nice ball.
-
Lightly dust a salad bowl with a little flour and add the dough ball. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and put it aside at room temperature for an hour.
-
The dough has to raise until double its original volume.
-
In the meantime slice the apple finely. Lightly crumble the goat cheese using your hands. Then put the dough on a floured surface and roll it out thinly. Transfer it onto a pizza stone or metal bread plate. Sprinkle with the sliced apple and top with the crumbled goat cheese and fresh oregano. Season with pepper and salt.
-
Bake the pizza in a preheated oven 235°C for 20 to 25 minutes until the center is cooked and the sides are crisp. Remove the pizza from the oven. Sprinkle with some olive oil. Slice the apple and goat cheese pizza and serve.
