Shrimp Boil Recipe with Old Bay Seasoning

A bunch of shrimp, potatoes, sausage and corn cooked in a beer broth… this recipe is perfect for my KitchenAid Cook Processor!

Ingredients

  • 20 medium raw shrimp unpeeled
  • 6 small potatoes rinsed
  • 1 cob of corn peeled and chopped
  • 1 smoked sausage chopped
  • 3 cups water (720 ml)
  • 2 cups pilsner beer (480 ml)
  • Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • olive oil
  • pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Pour the water and the beer in the bowl of the Cook Processor and then add the garlic clove, the potatoes, a good dash of pepper and 2 tablespoons of the Old Bay seasoning.

  2. Close the lid and select BOIL P3. Press Start to activate Step 1. Then add the chopped sausage bits an the chopped corn to the bowl.

  3. Close the lid and press Start to activate Step 2. Then add the shrimp to the hot water.

  4. Close the lid and then adjust the cooking time of Step 3 to 8 minutes (instead of 13 minutes). Press Start to activate Step 3. The shrimp should be pink in the end. Then press cancel to exit the keep warm mode. Drain all the cooked ingredients and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with some olive oil, extra Old Bay seasoning, pepper and salt to taste if necessary.

  5. Serve the shrimp boil warm.
