Ingredients

  • 2 pears for cooking
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese grated
  • 4 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 tbsp pecan nuts
  • olive oil
  • pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Add the handful of pecan nuts to a clean blender. Pulse the pecan nuts quickly until you end up with a fine crumble and then set this aside until needed later on in the recipe.

  2. Slice the pears lengthwise in half and core them. Leave the stems on (only for presentation because it looks nicer). Place the 4 pear halves in a large baking dish with their cut sides up. Then drizzle the halves with a generous splash of olive oil. Season with a good dash of freshly ground black pepper and a little sprinkle of salt. Place a fresh sage leaf on each pear.

  3. Sprinkle the pears evenly with the pecan nut crumble from the blender you put aside. Then sprinkle them with the grated parmesan cheese.

  4. Bake the pears in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20 to 25 minutes or until almost soft and cooked through. Remove the pears, place them on a clean dish and serve them lukewarm.
