Roasted Pears: soft pears topped with crumbled pecan nuts and parmesan cheese! What a great Thanksgiving side dish this is then!
Add the handful of pecan nuts to a clean blender. Pulse the pecan nuts quickly until you end up with a fine crumble and then set this aside until needed later on in the recipe.
Slice the pears lengthwise in half and core them. Leave the stems on (only for presentation because it looks nicer). Place the 4 pear halves in a large baking dish with their cut sides up. Then drizzle the halves with a generous splash of olive oil. Season with a good dash of freshly ground black pepper and a little sprinkle of salt. Place a fresh sage leaf on each pear.
Sprinkle the pears evenly with the pecan nut crumble from the blender you put aside. Then sprinkle them with the grated parmesan cheese.
