Best Recipe for Black Pepper Chicken Noodles

Ingredients

  • 7 oz fresh chicken breast (200 g), diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper cleaned and sliced
  • 1 medium garlic clove sliced
  • ½ sweet onion sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine or sake
  • 2 tsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 10,5 oz hokkien noodles (300 g), precooked
  • 1 a handful fresh mint
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Pour the vegetable oil in a large non-stick pan or wok and place it over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the diced chicken.

  2. Stir fry the chicken for 2 minutes until seared on all sides. Then add the sliced onion, ginger and garlic.

  3. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes. Then add the bell pepper and freshly ground black pepper.

  4. Stir fry the chicken and vegetables for another 2 minutes. Now add the cooking wine (or sake), fish sauce and soy sauce.

  5. Sprinkle with the flour and stir the chicken and vegetables again.

  6. Now add the hokkien noodles.

  7. Turn the heat lower and cook the chicken and noodles for another 3 minutes. Right in the end add the lemon juice and the fresh mint.

  8. Stir and divide the black pepper chicken noodles over large bowls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve hot.
