    People following the carnivore diet eat almost exclusively animal products, such as meat, fish, eggs – and some dairy perhaps.

    This diet avoids all plant based foods, like fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes.

    Why?

    Well the idea behind this diet is that our ancestors primarily had animal based foods, so carnivore diet fans find that it is exactly what our bodies are naturally designed to eat.

    Have you ever heard of it before?

    I came across this carnivore diet community on X not that long ago, and I had to admit that I didn’t know anything about it. I thought that it only meant avoiding anything vegetarian or vegan even. Boy was I wrong!

    The popular diet

    So who invented it?

    The origins of the carnivore diet as a popular concept that wasn’t just invented by one single person in particular like you often have with other popular recipes or diets.

    There is however a certain Dr. Shawn Baker, an orthopedic surgeon who published a book called The Carnivore Diet. There’s also one Mikhaila Peterson, who made this diet popular by sharing personal positive stories about how it improved her health.

    Whereas people love it, I also have to mention that the carnivore diet is still considered a controversial one, since many health professionals don’t believe in its safety and long-term sustainability.

    Good news, I am not here to judge!

    I googled semi carnivore diet recipes and really liked what I saw.

    1) Nate’s Carnivores Minced Beef (Nate’s Food)

    This one is right up my alley: a one pan breakfast consisting of sausage, minced meat and eggs. Credits go to Nate behind Nate’s Food.

    And Nate says this about his recipe: “I have come up with a unique creation that I have named “Carnivore’s Minced Beef.     2) Pork Belly & Cheese Four Egg Omelette (The Inner Carnivore)

    I love eggs for breakfast.

    Omelets are so easy to make, and why not step up our game and add pork belly instead of bacon? The author is called Carnivore JT, I found this meaty recipe on a website called The Inner Carnivore.

    And the recipe introduction says: “Let’s begin your morning with a flavor-packed breakfast that is both satisfying and lush. I can really recommend you make my fluffy and gooey 4 egg omelette with crispy pan-seared pork belly and melted cheese. I like to add chives and sriracha sauce to finish.     3) Carnivore Diet Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole (The Primal)

    Not sure who is behind this next recipe or food website, The Primal.

    But that doesn’t make it less interesting, on the contrary! A carnivore diet bacon cheeseburger casserole, another excellent breakfast if you ask me!

    The Primal Diet goes a step further than the carnivore diet as it is all about eating natural, unprocessed foods, inspired by what early humans consumed.

    This is what the introduction says: “Out of all the tailored carnivore diet recipes, this bacon cheeseburger casserole with heavy cream stands out as a crowd favorite. Do you know what makes it so popular? It is packed with protein, contains healthy fats and is low-carb.”

    In quite a few of my previous recipe roundups, you might come across other recipes by The Cookie Rookie.

    1) Chicken Fried Steak with White Gravy (Yummy For Adam)

    We all love a good gravy, don’t we!

    I was immediately drawn to this very next carnivore recipe over at Yummy for Adam, a chicken fried steak smothered in white gravy. This one has my name written all over it,  I just wish I could dig in right now!

    And Adam says this about his recipe: “Often known as country-fried steak, this keto-friendly take involves a coating of beaten egg and pulverized pork rinds, followed by frying in rich ghee.     I certainly should include a delicious bone broth here in my carnivore diet recipes roundup.

    And I find what I want over at Kay Wagyu! What about this lush looking bone marrow pho beef soup? I love Vietnamese pho, never tried it with bone marrow but I’m all in!
